Junior Program Kicks off

Syndal Storm’s junior program kicked off over the weekend with mixed results. Friday’s training session was a great way to start the summer season with all members getting down and having fun in their first session together. Coaches Ben, Mikayla and Sarah were all impressed with the standard of play for their teams.

Saturday 8:00am was the start of games and Syndal played off against the other new club on the block at Nunawading Basketball, Mulgrave Mambas, in an under 8’s grading game. Storm came out on top 18 - 2 in a game that looks to mean that the team will be moving up divisions. The dominant performance was stamped with a massive 16 points from Benji.

The under 12’s played off against a Wattle Park Saints team that had been together for a few years with alot of experience. The team struggled to get off the mark going down 42-4. With the game being the first time most of the team has stepped on a basketball court except for training it was a good experience for the team who will be graded more accurately going forward.
